The book entitled 27 Circular Walks based on the Mull of Galloway Trail has proved to be popular with over 800 copies having been sold. The book which was compiled by Robert Clark, Trail Coordinator, was published by the Rotary Club of Stranraer and was launched in March 2013. The cost of funding came from a grant from Dumfries & Galloway Council Area Committee. The Committee agreed that the Rotary Club could retain funds equal to the cost of printing for future maintenance of the trail. Robert requested that any surplus be donated to ShelterBox which is a charity supported by the club. Last month the Rotary Club was able to send a cheque to ShelterBox for £1180 which covered the cost of two boxes. Following the disaster in the Philippines due to the impact of Typhoon Haiyan ShelterBoxes were urgently needed to assist families who have lost everything.
