WARNING - Erosion at Cailiness
Towards the end of 2012 it was reported that erosion had taken place at Cailiness south of Drummore. Following an inspection by two Rotarians arrangements were made for the fence to be moved further inland by James Smith Fencing with the work carried out in December 2012.
Unfortunately further erosion has occurred a short distance away with the result that it is difficult and indeed dangerous to keep to the existing route. It is possible to walk with care on the shore except at high tide and it is hoped that a permanent solution will be found to this problem in the near future.
In the meantime the path has been diverted through the adjacent field. Notices have been attached to gates on either side of the danger area advising walkers of the diversion.Gates should be closed at all times and walkers are asked to stay close to the field boundary on the seaward side.
